The Red Band Trailer for the upcoming biopic Straight Outta Compton has been released. Following the meteoric rise and fall of NWA, Straight Outta Compton tells the remarkable story of how these young rappers revolutionized music and pop culture forever by telling the world their story of life in the hood and started a cultural war.
A few months back, news about this biopic surfaced wherein it was revealed that the son of rapper Ice Cube, O’Shea Jackson Jr., will take on his fathers role as the iconic rapper. Talks of Nepotism has been brewing, but after seeing the trailer, not only does he looks like a younger version of his old man, but he has his mannerisms down to the letter. Probably deleting the doubts about this casting choice. This makes me more excited for the movie.
Straight Outta Compton stars, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell, as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E. Straight Outta Compton is directed by F. Gary Gray, and open in theatres on August 14, 2015.
